Project Overview

In January 2023, PT Elbema Integra Indonesia successfully completed a cold splicing job on a 3-layer belt conveyor at the production facility of PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina (ICA) in Tayan, West Kalimantan. This task was part of scheduled equipment maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operation of the plant’s bulk material handling system.

Cold splicing is a non-vulcanized method of belt jointing that uses specialized adhesives and multi-layer lamination techniques. In this project, a 3-ply fabric belt was joined with high precision, involving proper belt alignment, surface preparation, and pressure application in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical specifications.

The technical team from PT Elbema Integra Indonesia performed all steps from surface preparation, layered adhesive application, to curing and final inspection within the scheduled time frame, without disrupting production activities. The process was carried out under strict adherence to industrial safety procedures.
